Editorial Try
I really like how magazines are designed, the structure, the fonts, the styles… Probably the sole purpose I buy them. I usually find myself looking at how many columns they used rather than reading the article itself.
What is the first page when you turn the cover? Well the content. (Aside from the editor’s note.) Most of the magazines use vertical content page layout which I’m not a fan of. I always thought making it horizontal would be more interesting and so I decided to do it myself.
Sitting in the starbucks, drinking my sugar free black coffee, listening to jazz, I couldn’t help but try to design one myself.
The fonts I used are Raleigh extra bold and GeoSlab extra bold. Raleigh was designed by Adrian Williams, and Robert Norton in 1977. It’s a Serif (Antiqua) Heavy Serif font. For the numerics I used GeoSlab because I like the contrast of classic and not classic looks. I actually wanted to create more chaos with the visuals and leave it clean upwards. So when you open up it screams dynamic but also clean. Will rework on this piece, for now lets just get the idea out of mind. Full view would be better. Contents are whatever I thought of at this moment =)
Any comment on how to better it would be great…
